The construction of machines and process plants for the food industry is a special branch of general machine and plant construction for VERMAY. The processing of food must meet the highest standards in our society, and VERMAY has gladly accepted this challenge. How are machine feet from VERMAY used here, and what are the specific features? Process plants in the food industry are used, among other things, for the production of liquid to paste-like products. The machine feet are used under plant components such as the vacuum unit, auxiliary containers, or control cabinets and must ensure a very stable and secure stand, as well as a finely adjustable height compensation, to guarantee an ideal product flow depending on the substrate. Naturally, food production takes place under strict purity and hygiene requirements. Therefore, our machine feet are almost exclusively made of stainless steel.

However, hygienic requirements have since increased, and machines and process plants in the food processing industry must now meet the standards of "Hygienic Design" – that is, the hygienic design of machines, plants, and components in the food sector with corresponding certification by independent institutes. An important criterion here is the prevention of bacterial growth through gap-free components and the prevention of contamination of food by decomposing machine parts, such as seals.
